Obedience
Dog is man’s best friend. There is truth to this and let us help you to make your four-legged friend a pleasant addition to your household.
Do you think that your dog is “bad?” Dogs do not do things “just to make you angry…rather they simply follow natural dog behavior rules. Does your dog speak English? No, of course not, no dog does. Nor do they speak any other language for that matter. Think about it. If your dog doesn’t even speak your language how can you just assume that they should know exactly how to behave in your house and in society. Dogs can quickly be misunderstood especially given the high standards that we set for them. Training can be a frustrating process if you don’t figure out a way to communicate with your dog. I will give you some pointers to help teach English as a second language to your dog.
Dog training will be done primarily in your home. This is done for a few reasons. One is that your dog will act like himself meaning that he will respond just as he has done in the past. If you take the dog out of his everyday environment he may react different which will not elicit the behavior that needs to be changed.
No matter what your dogs problem is I will also teach him basic obedience. This will include:
- Watch (Attention Exercise)
- Leave It (Off Command)
- Sit
- Greeting strangers (without jumping on them)
- Down
- Settle Down (getting your dog to calm down when they’re excited)
- Recall (Come with all the proper procedures)
- Sit-Stay… and later at a further distance
- Down-Stay…and later at a further distance
- Touch (to be used with heeling)
- Heel
- Loose Leash Walking
- Other problems that Kings K-9 will address are:
- House breaking problems
- Behavior modification
- Barking
- Chewing
- Jumping up
- Separation anxiety
- Nipping
